On 17 November 2015, two NTF members broke new ground for the charity. Eleanor Springham and Chelsea Macfarlane arrived in Penyem Village to begin a period of three weeks living in the village. Whilst there they will be teaching and working in the village school. They will be living with local families.
Both Chelsea and Eleanor have been to Penyem before. In fact they were last there in December 2014 as part of a larger group. In early November 2015, they organised a charity fundraiser in their home town of Corby and raised over £800 in one evening. NTF has topped up this fund to £1000. They will decide upon project on which the money can be usefully spent and then supervise the development of the project.
In December 2015 a large group from NTF will visit The Gambia which will include family members of both ladies. Hopefully, we can then together see the completed project.
It is anticipated that this will be the first of many similar visits my NTF supporters. Anyone wishing to know more should get in touch!
